Bali packs jungle, volcanoes, temples, surf beaches and offshore islands into an area you can cross in a few hours. It works equally well for a first trip and for couples wanting a slower honeymoon pace.

When to go

April to October is the dry season — reliable sun, lower humidity, the best diving visibility around Nusa Penida. November to March is wetter with afternoon storms; mornings are often still clear.

How to route it

• Ubud side (2 nights): Tegallalang rice terraces, Kintamani volcano views, the swings and waterfalls, Monkey Forest.
• South / Uluwatu (2–3 nights): clifftop temple and Kecak fire dance at sunset, Tanah Lot, water sports at Tanjung Benoa.
• Nusa Penida (day trip): Kelingking viewpoint and the west-coast beaches by fast boat.

Money and budget

Currency is the Indonesian Rupiah — expect large numbers. Cards work in hotels and bigger restaurants; carry cash for warungs, temples and drivers. Packages start at ₹35,000 per person including 4-star hotel or villa stays with breakfast and private transfers.

Visa and entry

Indonesia has offered a visa-on-arrival for Indian tourists at Bali's airport for a fee, extendable once. Rules change — verify before travel and carry the fee in USD or card as accepted that season.

Practical notes

• Hire a private driver for sightseeing days — cheaper than multiple taxis and they know the photo stops.
• Temple visits need a sarong (usually provided) and covered shoulders.
• Roads are slow and winding; don't over-pack the daily plan.
